LIVE MUSIC ELECTRIC PRUNES “In 1966 amid a flurry of feedback, tremolo and fuzz the Electric Prunes emerged from the confines of their Los Angeles garage onto the world stage. Their hit single, “I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night)”, widely recognized as one of the first psychedelic hit records, heralded a transition in music and its presentation. In live performances their sonic combination of surf, psychedelia, tremolo and grit offered a unique auditory experience that was a far cry from the pop/folk music popular at the time.” Thu/12, doors 8pm, show 9pm, $25. The Chapel, SF. Tickets and more info here

LIT/EROTICA SHIPWRECK: LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE “Welcome, Shipsters, to San Francisco’s premier literary erotic fanfiction event. Six great writers destroy six notable characters from one Great Book on the first Thursday of every month at our home base, the Booksmith in San Francisco. This month, Shipwreck tries not to die of dysentery when we take it way back to Laura Ingalls Wilder’s The Little House on the Prairie (et al.). Featured writers: December winner Michael Howley, plus Tess Barry, Daphne Gottlieb, Tirumari Jothi, Meg Trowbridge, and Hope Waggoner.” Thu/12, 7pm, $10. ART TOUCH ON CLOSING RECEPTION “Touch On: Aesthetics in the Art, Politics and Ontology of Touch is a deep inquiry into the multifaceted nature of touch. To celebrate the exhibition’s closing, Touch On presents an evening of mixed media, experimental films, and digital art in SOMArts’ Main Gallery featuring local directors.
