When 48 Hills last spoke with folk-punk band Gogol Bordello leader Eugene Hütz, in 2024, he was rallying support for his Ukraine homeland with documentary Scream of My Blood: A Gogol Bordello Story. The Ukrainian situation remains dire, and this time around new album We Mean It, Man! combines that dedication to outspoken politics with the frenzied energy GB have exhibited for decades, which was on full display March 6 at the Warfield. As things continue to darken in the US, the crowd was ready for all the wild release they could get. Opener Puzzled Panther joined the band halfway through the set to double the cathartic output.
