I am so excited that SF Weed Week is back for the week of 420, April 14-20 (with a stellar graphic design exhibition opening April 4)! Newly launched as SF Space Walk, much of the series of events will take place over seven days at seven dispensaries featuring seven strains of amazing flower and the people who grow it. Plus, it’s free!
It is so important for San Francisco to host this type of happening. We are the nearest big city to the Emerald Triangle and should be setting the standard to which all other weed events compare themselves. So what should stoners expect?
“It’s like a record release party, but for a rock star weed grower,” said David Downs, Space Walk event producer and senior editor at Leafly. “You RSVP to receive a pre-order link, reserve your jars, go down for the party, pick up, meet and smoke with the weed celebs, listen to an expert interview, and have a good time. Free merch, beats, and treats.”

The series kicks off on Friday, April 4 at 5:30pm, when the green graphic design panorama of Get to the Bag opens at Mirus Gallery. The exhibition pulls from over a thousand of the mylar sacks that cannabis brands use to package their wares, and will run through April 27.
But the big week really gets going on Monday, April 14, 5:30-7:30pm at Russian Hill Cannabis Club, where Bosky Genetics will be premiering its The Soap x Otter Pops indica with grower Ryan Bosky in attendance. The place has a beautiful lounge and it should be a fun event.
Next up, we’ll cruise on over to Mission Cannabis Club to link up with Sunset Connect and Sense on Tuesday, April 15 from 5:30-7:30pm. Sense will be dropping an indica called Piescream, and Sunset Connect will debut some new pre-rolls and flower wrapped in their super cool, Muni-style decor. I attended this event last year, and you could barely see through all the smoke—it’s definitely one to try and attend.
On Wednesday, April 16 the action moves to 7 Stars Dispensary in Richmond, with 710 Labs and Snowtill dropping new flower. Snowtill will debut Mirage (Lemon G x Mystery Ohio Cut), and I’ve had 710 Labs’ stuff and it is always tasty and strong.
There will be two events on Thursday, April 16. First off, meet the people who create the building blocks of all that weed you smoke at the Genetics Reception at Mirus Gallery from 4-8pm. Brands scheduled to be in attendance include Purple City Genetics, Humboldt Seed Company, Happy Dreams, Zeed Vault, and more. Sign up to enjoy an amazing rooftop view while meeting cannabis folks in addition to enjoying an art show, food, beverages, and music.

Thursday’s second event involves heading out to Golden Gate Park area near 10th Avenue and Irving to Solful Cannabis Dispensary from 5:30-7:30pm for a sungrown showcase featuring their wonderful line of fresh grown cannabis. It’s a cute space, and I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried from there before.
Alien Labs is in town for day five of SF Space Walk, and they will land at Moe Greens from 5:30-7:30pm with Team Elite Genetics. These are two power names when it comes to quality weed, so this one is definitely on my list. Moe Greens has a fabulous smoking lounge, and the dab bar will be open. I admit I am an Alien Labs fanboy.
Saturday, April 19 will bring the party to The Green Door Dispensary in SOMA from 3-5pm. Moon Valley Cannabis will be dropping new flavors and hosting a meet and greet. Green Door was one of the first dispensaries I ever went to when I got my cannabis card way back in the 215 days. Great memories, and a fine dispensary.
Finally, on the High Holy Day of 420 (Sunday, April 20) Space Walk will be back at the Mirus Gallery’s rooftop for a stoner party from 1-5pm with a 4:20pm countdown and celebration. Expect seven brand tables including Nasha Flower, Team Elite Genetics, and Sunset Connect plus food and drinks with DJs spinning. Entry with RSVP and proof of a local cannabis purchase (a dispensary receipt) from the week of 4/20. First come, first serve.
So that is SF Space Walk week 2025! Seven days of amazing cannabis events. I attended last year, and it was more fun as the week went on because I would see the same people and friends at the events day after day.

“The San Francisco Bay Area has the best combination of lounges, flowers, growers, hash makers, food, art, music, and weather in the world,” said Downs. “We’re so excited to help polish SF’s canna-crown, and invite everyone to participate.”
Cannabis could be the crop that saves San Francisco—just look at the success of Wine Country tourism in Napa. I can certainly see tourists lining up to buy a map of the Emerald Triangle highlighted by all the farms, dispensaries, and attractions available to visit. We could use some of these boarded-up buildings as smoking lounges and cafes.
The city is creating entertainment zones in the Castro, Union Square, and Cole Valley with not one mention of cannabis. Maybe that strategy needs to be re-thought—many tourists are probably more interested in trying some amazing California weed than yet another Stella Artois.
San Francisco needs to say goodbye to the tech bros and hello to the stoners. We are much more fun to hang out with, and we have better snacks.
Thank you David Downs, for continuing to create cannabis culture in the Bay Area. It’s not just about getting weed legally, it’s about creating surrounding culture.
I’m off to RSVP, and then light up!
