Puff: Flying high for 420 with a full week of Space Walk fest

Clone Fest, Cutie Pipes, the Herb Somm, dub dancing, Brownie Mary doc, and mind-blowing strains. Plus: You need this fast food bong.

It is time for that High Holy Day, as 420 roll into the Bay.

For the third year, 420 celebration Space Walk launches Tue/14-Mon/20 with the promise of “Seven+ Nights, Seven+ Strains at Seven Dispensaries.” This is always a fantastic week of programming. Not only do you get to visit some of the best dispensaries in the Bay Area and try new weed strains right off the farm, but you also get to meet the growers and companies that make our cannabis community one of the best in the world.

“Every week is weed week for cannabis lovers. But San Francisco takes it up a notch in April with SF Space Walk. The state’s most award-winning flowers are all arrayed like a buffet spread across the City. Enjoy,” said David Downs, journalist, and SF Space Walk organizer.

Most of these events are free to attend. Just sign up at the Eventbrite links. You can choose to purchase the featured products ahead of time to collect and sample at the event. Don’t be intimidated either. This week is made for amateurs and pros alike. Have you wanted to go to a weed party or dispensary but feel intimidated? Don’t be! You are in a safe space where you can ask questions and learn from the growers and fellow stoners alike. I always end up meeting new people and having fun.

The Space Walk team, led by David Downs of Moe Greens, at this year’s press conference announcing the week’s events.

Space Walk kicks off on Tuesday, April 14 at SPARC on Polk Street from 4-7pm. With Moon Valley Cannabis, Emerald Sky edibles and Fire King Extracts

Next up on Wednesday, April 15 at Mission Cannabis Club from 4-7pm is Sense Cannabis debuting the Yuzu Sour strain and Sunset Connect introducing three new Fulton Fivers flavors. It’s always fun to hang in their beautiful smoking lounge and get high. Last time I was at this event it was packed with stoners, and I got a contact high from my contact high before I even toked. It’s a guaranteed stoney good time.

On Thursday, April 16 we move to the Avenues to Solful Dispensary on Irving from 4-7pm where Alpenglow, Purple City Genetics will showcase their new strains, and Jamie Evans aka The Herb Somm will be serving non-alcoholic Serrano Pineapple Margaritas and selling her books.

Moe Greens hosts on Friday, April 17 from 4-7pm where UMMA Sonoma and Bosky Genetics will debut their new strains along with visuals, music, and a dab bar. It sounds like a trippy good time, and Moe Greens has a great dab bar filled with all kinds of devices to get you higher.

Then on Saturday, April 18 from 1-4pm, Fig & Thistle in Hayes Valley will host Sonoma Hills Farm as they debut three low-THC strains, Girl Dinner, Spicy Arugula, and Yes Chef. There will be art by Hans Dehass, plus snacks and drinks. This is definitely a good party for the beginner, plus Sonoma Hills Farm is a fantastic brand.

After Fig & Thistle, the action moves to the SF Space Walk Club Party from 5-9pm at a private space in SOMA. DJ Sep of Dub Mission headlines with more than 20 cannabis brands, local food, drinks served. It costs $10 to get in. Sign up early before it sells out.

There is also a Clone Fest with live music and demos as well as a Cutie Pipes Workshop where you can build your own smoking device. Check the schedule for times and places.

Moving on to Sunday, April 19, we cross the bay to Richmond for Seven Stars dispensary’s indoor/outdoor drop party from 1-4pm featuring Snowtill releasing their Galactic and Screamberry strains and Huckleberry Hill Farms dropping a Whitethorn Rose strain.

Also on Sunday, there will be a screening of the amazing documentary Join The Club at Meadow HQ from 5-8pm. The film follows Dennis Peron, Brownie Mary, and the fight to make medical cannabis legal. It is a must see event for every stoner. Entry is $30 and includes a membership to the Brownie Mary Democratic Club.

On the big day, Monday April 20, Space Walk SF will climax with a party at BASA SF from 4pm-7pm with Wood Wide High Craft and its strain 4X4Z, The Pairist with their Whitethorn Rose infused pre-rolls, and Sunset Connect. Flower purchase is required for entry.

Then the party moves to The Emporium for beers, games, giveaways, pizza, and arcade tokens. It costs $10 for pizza and 20 tokens.

Whew! What a week of programming!! There are other things going on that week, so be sure and check the Space walk SF schedule for all the details.

“SF Space Walk highlights what we adore about The City—our weed, growers, lounges, liberties, neighborhoods, artists, activists, and heritage,” said Downs. “Come get astronaut-high and sample the best our neighborhoods have to offer.”

It is so important for the City to show up to these weed events and show support to those who dig in the earth to raise a plant that gets us high and provides medicine. Cannabis and its culture is an amazing gift to this area, and we need to support it and help it grow into an industry similar to the wine industry in Napa.

The Weedonalds set by Hemper

One last note, if you get home with all that weed to smoke from weed week, then I cannot recommend a more fun bong and pipe set than what Hemper released for 4/20, the Weedonalds French Fries bong, XL Soda Cup bong, and a Ketchup Packet hand pipe. They all look amazing and smoke well. What will they think up next!? I can’t wait to find out.

Anyway, may everyone stay high and happy on the holiest stoner day of the year, 420. Toke up, share, be safe, and keep on smoking!

I hope to see you all there.

Now, I am going to light up!
