Live Shots: Thee Sacred Souls showed ‘love is the way’ at The Masonic

The San Diego outfit's satiny smooth soul and throwback R&B jams brought sweet, swaying vibes in a dark time.

‘Southern California Latino culture meets American soul roots’ when San Diego based outfit Thee Sacred Souls take the stage, spreading their message of love and peace with satiny old-school R&B vibes. It’s music your great-uncle would proudly put on at the backyard BBQ, but also hugely effective and appealing in a big room venue like the Masonic, where the Daptone signees appeared January 24. Jams like “Love is the Way” and “Can I Call You Rose” had fans singing along and lighting up through a dark time.
