After nearly a year of stalled negotiations, San Francisco teachers said enough is enough. Representing United Educators of San Francisco, organizers rejected Mayor Daniel Lurie’s last-minute request for a 72-hour delay and walked out on Monday. Picket lines commenced at 7AM, and thousands packed Civic Center at 1 PM as classrooms went dark and the strike officially kicked off.
