City by the pint: Our toast-worthy guide to SF Beer Week

Soup dumplings and a hazy IPA, ad hoc taproom disc golf, bus routes to brews—hop lovers, clear your calendars.

10 days of tippling are coming the way of all those who are hop-inclined with SF Beer Week (Fri/20 through March 1), held every year by the intrepid SF Brewer’s Guild and featuring both educational and uproarious beer-themed gatherings throughout the Bay Area. Check out our picks for events below, both free and ticketed! And look, there’s a ton of awesome tap takeovers at places like Richmond Republic, Holy Water, Liquid Gold, Crafty Fox, and Paulista—but these events take it all a step further.

ALL WEEK: BEER 39 SFBW partnered with Pier 39 for a beer passport-style crawl. There’s eight locations on the pier (which if you haven’t been to lately, is crazy, kooky, and fun in that “tourist in your own city” type of way), each pouring a local beer, like Socks & Sandals Foggy IPA at the newly-minted Humble Sea tap room, or Headlands Land’s End West Coast IPA at Fog Harbor Fish House. Get four of the eight stamps and you win a SFBW tasting glass. Pier 39, SF. More info here.

FRI/20: HOP ON MUNI IPA PUB CRAWL KICK-OFF PARTY Look, a simple new beer release isn’t that exciting, but when it’s paired with a Muni Pub Crawl, then you’ve got my attention! Get started at Standard Deviant’s Mission tap room, grab a pint of the new Hop on Muni IPA and pick up a game card. Then hop (that’s a lot of hops, I know) on one of four Muni pub crawl routes (7-Haight, 14-Mission, T-Third, or 22-Fillmore) and collect stickers at four to five stops to win a prize. But maybe the real prize is the friends we make along the way? 5pm. Standard Deviant, SF. More info here.

SAT/21: SFBW FEST Gone is the enormous Opening Gala at Pier 35. In its place is the more approachable and family-friendly afternoon vibe of the SFBW Fest with 40 local breweries pouring at the 5.4-acre Salesforce Park (no rain forecasted!) Local stalwart DJ Sake One will be dropping tunes all day, with local bands performing on the amphitheater main stage as well. 1:30pm. Salesforce Park, SF. More info here.

FEBRUARY 25: ICONS OF SAN FRANCISCO CRAB FEED Anchor Brewing Co might still be shuttered, but former brewers Dane Volek and Kevin West have partnered with the good folks at the Sunset’s Fifty Vara Kitchen + Brewery to brew a “California Common” Anchor Steam clone of sorts. Best part is, it’ll be available here alongside a crab feed style dinner; truly the best pairing for a Steam Beer! 5:30pm. Fifty Vara Kitchen + Brewery, SF. More info here.

FEBRUARY 27: DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT Barebottle is turning its Bernal Heights taproom into a disc golf course for a night. What can possibly go wrong? Show up and find out! [chains clang] 6pm. Barebottle, SF. More info here.

FEBRUARY 27: CASK & QUESO AT THE RAKE The Thirsty Bear Brewing crew used to put this cheese and beer pairing event on every SFBW at the now-shuttered SOMA taproom (I still dream of a melty raclette-porter pairing.) Times they change, but that very crew is now behind Alameda’s industry-standard Admiral Maltings facility and are throwing the party at their pub, The Rake. 6pm. Admiral Maltings, Alameda. More info here.

FEBRUARY 27: “POKE” BEER Richmond brewery East Brother is celebrating its ninth anniversary and holding a little shindig at its brand new Rec Room space at the Metreon. Here, you can practice the Czech tradition of Bierstacheln (beer poking), where a red-hot steel rod is dipped into a dark Czech lager to create a warm, creamy head and sweet finish. Plus there’s live music and local eats. Cool! 5pm. East Brother’s Rec Room, Richmond. More info here.

FEBRUARY 28: DIM SUM BRUNCH WITH FORT POINT A classic SFBW event returns. Pair soup dumplings, har gow, peking duck and more with Fort Point’s full lineup of beers like Lobos Hazy IPA (my fave) and their Super Natural Rosé hard cider. 1:30pm. Hong Kong Lounge, SF. More info here.

FEBRUARY 28: UBE BEER AND HOWARD STREET BLOOK PARTY Here at 48Hills, we love Enterprise Brewing Co, one of our 2025 Best of the Bay Editor’s picks. For SFBW, they’ll be collabing (again!) with neighboring Rize Up Bakery on the Halaya Jam beer, a white stout layered with purple yam, vanilla, and coconut. Come for the crazy beer inspired by Rize Up’s ube sourdough loaf, stay for the Howard Street block party vibes with local DJs! 1pm. Enterprise Brewing Co., SF. More info here.

FEBRUARY 28: BEER VS. WINE DINNER The Bayview’s jazz-themed supper club Old Skool Cafe has been successfully training at-risk youth to run every facet of the business since it first opened in 2012. For SFBW, our guy, executive director of the SF Brewer’s Guild Sayre Piotrkowski (keep your eyes peeled for our interview next week!) and Suhayl Ramirez of Overshine Wines will be pairing both local beer and wines with a five-course menu including catfish fingers, jerk shrimp, and Old Skool’s signature fried chicken. Check it out, cool cats! 6pm. Old Skool Cafe, SF. More info here.
