TO ENTER: Email marke@48hills.org with “Bob Marley Forever” in the subject line and your favorite Marley jam in the body, along with your full name—by 5pm Thursday. Winners will be chosen at random and informed Thursday night. Good luck!

More about the event:

A champion in the new roots reggae arena, Prezident Brown is known for his conscious lyrics, pure Rasta vibes, and exceptional live performances. Prezident Brown has toured the United States and appeared at several festivals, including The Sierra Nevada World Music Festival, Reggae On The River, and the Mt. Shasta Renegade Music Festival. A full-length album, Roots Hop Reggae, was released in 2024. Prezident Brown’s latest single, “Fyah Burn,” will be released on February 7th.

DJ Sep is a San Francisco Bay Area DJ / producer, founder of the long-running dub and reggae club, Dub Mission. Sep has presented and opened for a long list of reggae and electronic artists, including Lee Perry, The Wailers, The Scientist, Mad Professor, Sly & Robbie, Toots and The Maytals, Skillibeng, Protoje, Mykal Rose, Mungo’s Hi Fi, and many others.

Broadway Studios has been a premier San Francisco entertainment venue for over a century. Located in the heart of North Beach, the classic Mission-style building was built in 1919 by the Italian community, and began its first incarnation as Garibaldi Hall. In the 1930’s it was a favorite ballroom for swing and jazz nights, which saw the likes of Louis Armstrong grace its stage. In the ’70s the venue became known as Mabuhay Gardens (“The Fab” Mab”), and was host to many memorable events including appearances from Robin Williams, Blondie, The Go-Go’s, and other now-legendary rock bands.

In the ‘80s it was the epicenter of the San Francisco punk scene, with acts like The Dead Kennedys, Iggy Pop, Devo, and The Nuns playing to packed houses. “The Mab was the CBGB’s of the whole west coast, and it ain’t even been torn down!” said Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys. Continuing in the tradition of its predecessors, Broadway Studios has now hosted corporate events, movie premieres, comedy specials, live music, and theater performances, and more.
