Noise Pop diary: Big snaps from the festival’s 20,000-attendee return

The Damani Rhodes Experience and Charlotte Dos Santos were among 130 artists who took the stage. We caught their live-show glitter.

There was no denying that Noise Pop’s 29th year was a historic edition. Azealia Banks became the music festival’s first Black woman headliner, and 20,000 attendees checked out more than 130 artists at a 10-pack of San Francisco’s notable venues. (You know, the spots that survived the last two years of sparse opportunities for live events—and they more than deserve their time to shine.) People came ready for this return: For the first year ever, a Noise Pop representative says, the festival sold out every single one of its badges. Photographer Jon Bauer was there for many of the most magical moments. Here’s some of his favorite snaps.
