Live Shots: Sol Blume fest glowed up for two days of music and joy

A brilliant lineup of R&B heavy hitters, most of them women, lent this Sacramento gathering plenty of soul power.

Starting as a small one-day music festival at Cesar Chavez Plaza in Sacramento, Sol Blume has blossomed into a two-day extravaganza featuring both established and up-and-coming R&B, soul, and hip-hop music acts. Returning after a three-year hiatus, the now weekend-long festival brought together more than 40,000 attendees to Discovery Park on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1.

The weekend featured performances from an ensemble of heavy-hitting R&B songstresses including Jorja Smith, Jhené Aiko, Summer Walker, and Jazmine Sullivan who replaced PartyNextDoor as a Saturday headliner.
