Live Shots: Murs and Z-Man revved up Cal Academy’s ‘NightLife’

The Cali rappers played the Academy of Sciences' weekly party as part of the 'NightLife Remix: Live Music Series'

Last month, Cal Academy’s excellent weekly, Best of the Bay-winning NightLife event invited some bigger live music names into the museum, amping up what was already a pretty neat, and often sold-out, party. (Where else can you shimmy in the blue light of a giant aquarium or enjoy a cocktail with Claude, the albino alligator?)

Over the course of August, the “NightLife Remix: Live Music Series” featured mind-tickling soul singer-songwriter Madison McFerrin, Mexican rock band Margaritas Podridas, and Vallejo rapper/entrepreneur LaRussell.

We caught lauded LA rapper Murs, a member of the Living Legends crew, and local Z-Man on August 15 as they got paleontological at the Academy. We’re definitely in favor of more life at night, remixed.
