Puff: Let’s all take a Valentine’s cannabis spa day

Flower Power bath bombs, weed-infused chocolate, calming massage oil—warm up to some self-love (or share with someone special)

Valentine’s Day can be many things, something to dread, something to celebrate, or something to ignore all together. I’ve always been a bit of the latter until I realized that Valentine’s Day can also be a day of self-love and relaxation whether you are solo or with your loved one(s).

So why not make it a spa day!? Let’s start out with gummy for a nice little peppy buzz, and they always make an easy gift. My two new favorite flavors are the Sour Watermelon from Plus and Pomegranate from Wyld

If you are a watermelon fan, then the Sour Watermelon will definitely excite you. Just don’t eat too many, remember, they are made of weed. Each sativa gummy will uplift you at 5mg THC with 20 in a tin.

The Wyld gummies are bigger slabs of gummy. The pomegranate flavor is bright and slightly tart. They are CBD + Hybrid enhanced, packing in 10mg THC and 10mg CBD per gummy with 10 in a package. Both these sell for around $22 per container at most dispensaries.

Next, time for a nice relaxing soak with an OM Flower Power Cannabis-Infused Bath Bomb

“Cannabis hydrotherapy provides a blissful mind & body relaxation, so delight in all your senses and enjoy,” promises the packaging.

Each bomb is made with Feeling Frosty full spectrum rosin and contains 50mg THC and a touch of CBD with the scents of sweet jasmine, gardenia and honeysuckle. Just throw it in a nice hot tub and soak for at least 20 mins. Each bomb costs about $24 and can be found at a lot of local dispensaries. OM also makes killer cannabis-infused bath salts as well.

As you soak away your stress, play your favorite music. I would suggest something without vocals so your mind can float away on the sounds of the soaring melodies.

As you do this, it’s a great time to light up a joint. You can roll one of your own which is always a nice touch or grab a pre-roll.

There are many choices of weed out there, so grab your favorite, grind it up and roll it. Lately, I have really enjoyed Ember Valley’s Zombie Cookies, a nice bright hybrid with 24%THC and a touch of CBD. Zombie Cookies is a mix of GG#4 and Animal Cookies created by Alien Labs, a favorite of mine. I bought a quarter of small buds for $75 plus tax on Eaze.

I discovered Napa-based Fume pre-rolls in last year’s holiday Lucky Box Club box. They have very nice packaging which is always nice for a gift. You have to use a credit card or something the same size to slide open the tray. Each joint comes in a glass tube with a cork stopper, a beeswax hemp wick for lighting, and a cherry wood smoke tip for sharing.

Not only do they look great, but the weed is good too. I tried the Dank Fruit (hybrid) single pre-roll (23% THC) and the Double Chem OG (indica) 5 pack (24% THC). They all smoked well and were effective. The single pre-roll was $18 plus tax and the 5-pack was $60 plus tax.

Fume also has a sister label called Lake Grade which is a good quality, cheaper brand, and I did really enjoy their Burma Nights (hybrid) pre-rolls. They burn like cigarettes, so if you have a stoner buddy who talks a lot when high, make sure they pass it on before they start yapping.

The 5-pack cost $27 plus tax and they have a store locator on their website.

Now that you are relaxing and your taste buds are plumped and ready, why not continue your spa experience with cannabis chocolate-dipped snacks? Strawberries are looking good these days. Definitely some pretzels would be good, banana slices, cherries, nuts or anything else you can think up.

Kiva has some great infused chocolate flavors with Churro Milk Chocolate and Toffee Crunch Dark Chocolate being my two favorites. I am using Papa & Barkley’s Releaf Chocolate with 66% dark chocolate and sea salt. Most bars are around $20 each and contain 100mg THC. Just make sure whatever chocolate you use is made with cocoa butter, otherwise you will have problems.

The key is to temper your chocolate first. Take a chocolate bar and chop it up. Put it in the microwave and heat it on high for 30 seconds and stir. Heat again for another 30 seconds, stir, then 15 seconds, stir, then 10 seconds, stir. Make sure your temperature never goes above 90F for dark chocolate, 86F for milk chocolate and 84F for white chocolate. Do Not Rush This! If there are any lumps left, microwave for 5 more seconds and stir until it is all melted. Now, you are ready to dip all your items in and place them on wax paper while they harden. Your munchies are ready!

Finally, after your nice soak, smoke and snack, end your spa day with a nice rubdown. Of course if you are solo, you can’t really do that, but I’m sure you can hit the lower back, shoulders and appendages pretty easily. I like using Green Bee Botanicals’ Deep Calm Massage Oil. It’s not too greasy and rubs in nicely. Each 1oz bottle contains 135mg THC and 45mg CBD and costs around $38 plus tax. Check their website for dispensaries that carry it.

As you go through your regimen, be sure and stay hydrated!

I hope after your cannabis self-love spa day, that it helps shake off those winter blues. There is a lot going on in the world today that is scary and unpredictable. We can’t always control all that, but we can control how we treat ourselves by making good self-love choices. Whisk yourself off to that stoney plateau to heal yourself and strengthen for another day.

Now it is time to light up!
