Live Shots: A joyful noise at GLIDE’s Annual Holiday Jam

Bobby McFerrin, Fantastic Negrito, Vernon Bush, more came to celebrate GLIDE's social justice mission.

On Thursday, November 18, at the Masonic, legendary multi-denominational center for social justice GLIDE brought the community together, finally in-person, for music, storytelling and celebration to support its charitable and spiritual mission. The GLIDE Annual Holiday Jam featured a tribute to pastor emeritus Rev Cecil Williams (who recently lost his wife, SF Poet Laureate Janice Mirikitani) as well as uplifting music from Bobby McFerrin, Fantastic Negrito, and Vernon Bush leading the GLIDE Ensemble and Change Band—plus words from poet and preacher Marvin K. White. The theme was “Still We Rise.” Check out our shots of the joyous evening below.
