Good Taste: Warriors score early wins with tasty new fare

Delightful Dungeness sandwich, fire pozole, perfect vegan pancit are some of this season’s culinary highlights at Chase Center.

Good Taste tells you where to stick your fork in the Bay. This week, I’m sharing my favorite new dishes inside the Chase Center in time for the Golden State Warriors new season. (Also check out recent food-centric pieces on Festus Ezeli and Steph Curry.)

My favorite media tasting event in 2025 was a Chase Center preview of the food concepts and items for the Warriors season, so it was thrilling to be invited back for a peek at what’s new starting this week. An intimate group was unleashed on a buffet of big bites. Guest included The Tastebud, The Snack Sensei, and Hungry4Munchies — all creators I enjoy watching on Instagram.

There are six bustling kitchens inside the Chase Center—it’s a huge and fascinating operation. This season’s new snacks and meals include chefs’ family recipes and more of a focus on local dishes. These are the five dishes I’m going to look for the next time I’m in the Chase Center to watch the Warriors or Valkyries.

Sarap Shop’s Vegan Pancit

Vegan Pancit at Sarap Shop

I inhaled this new plant-based offering, which uses a pineapple “fish sauce” with the noodles, and I’d recommend it to omnivores as well as vegans. Thank you to the Chase Center chef who is bringing his wife’s recipe out for the whole Bay to enjoy. Portal 49

Pozole at Nuevos

Pozole at Nuevos

A few guests at the tasting were overheard saying that they wouldn’t have thought to order pozole at a game, but they would want this pozole, which has generous hunks of pork. I agree, and want it again right now, please. Portal 3

Fog City Crab Sandwich at Pure Catch and Stacked Sandos

My favorite bite of the day was this giant Dungeness crab cake sandwich with a remoulade on a  Dutch crunch roll — to the extent that I rolled the rest of my sample into a napkin when I was leaving. The Chase Center is offering Dutch crunch for the first time. I’m a DC fan who is aware that this is a polarizing sandwich bread, in the manner of putting pineapple on pizza. This version’s light bake may win over people who think that the Dutch crunch bread topping can be too abrasive. Portal 22 (Pure Catch) and Portals 3, 49 (Stacked Sandos)

Big Nate’s BBQ loaded baked potato

Loaded Baked Potato at Big Nate’s BBQ

One of these huge pulled pork potatoes can probably feed two to four people. You might pass out if you try to eat it on your own, unless you have competitive hot dog eating experience or something. Portals 11, 23, 40

The Town at Tony G’s

Regular readers of Good Taste may have clocked that I’ve been eating a lot of Gemignani’s pizza lately; willpower can only be so strong. With blue tortilla chips and sweet corn, The Town slice is quite light and perfectly portable, with no marinara to spill. He’s got his own Calabrian chile oil if you can handle it.

Let’s go, Warriors! Check below for full list:

New Concepts & Partnerships:

  • Lagunitas City Bistro (Portal 51) Chase Center’s City Bistro has partnered with Petaluma’s own Lagunitas Brewing Company for fan-favorite stadium fare reimagined with iconic Northern California craft beers—from Smashburgers topped with IPA braised onions and beer cheese to Nathan’s Hot Dogs smothered in IPA braised onions.
  • Cache Creek Club unveils a new food and beverage service option that features self-serve gourmet popcorn, a limited menu with arena favorites, halftime candy drop, and fountain sodas with ticket purchase.
  • Nikka Coffey Gin, made in Japan using Nikka’s unique Coffey Stills, is offered in club spaces and includes a dedicated “Buzzer Beater” cocktail with Nikka Coffey Gin, Luxardo Limoncello, and lemon sour.
  • Bay Bird (Portals 10 & 55) Unveiling in November, Bay Bird serves up hot chicken with a San Francisco soul that pairs signature crunch with Szechuan spice and house coleslaw across three distinct heat levels. Signature offerings include Fowl Language chicken breast sandwiches (available in Mild Heat, Medium Heat, and ‘They’re on Fire!’ as a nod to the classic video game NBA JAM), Chicken Tenders & Seasoned Fries, and Loaded Fries topped with chopped tenders and spicy sauce.
