Live Shots: La Doña blew the Fillmore down at sold-out show

With new EP 'Can't Eat Clout' and a full band, the local femmeton trailblazer was a force of nature.

The femmeton trailblazer’s new EP is named Can’t Eat Clout, but if the reaction of the sold-out crowd at the Fillmore on Nov. 9 was any indication, Mission musical emissary La Doña will be able to dine out for quite a while on local love—and hopefully much more, too. After the roll-out of her major album Algo Nuevo was scuttled by COVID in 2020, the musician, whose talents include playing the trumpet and synthesizing Latin sounds with social justice, looked and sounded more than ready to take the world by storm, again.
