Watch: Hip-hop journalist Soren Baker delves into the story of Juicy J on Music Book Club

The prolific reporter was the first to cover Juicy's legendary outfit Three 6 Mafia on a national scale. Now he tells the rapper's tale

Music Book Club gets Juicy: Soren Baker is a highly prolific author of 15 books—outside of the new Chronicles of the Juice Man book which he wrote with Juicy J, he is also the co-author of The Gucci Mane Guide to Greatness, his most recent book. He’s got more books, documentaries, and TV projects in the works and has a YouTube channel with dozens of interviews with rap legends like Ice T, Big Daddy Kane, Nice & Smooth, MC Ren, and Dana Dane.

He was the first national reporter to cover Juicy J and Three 6 Mafia and interviewed them countless times over the years. This made him a natural choice for Juicy J to collaborate on this super raw and honest memoir, which talks about the devastating effects of drug abuse on Three 6 Mafia, taking the lives of key members, and how he took a positive path and remains a huge, in-demand producer and artist as well as a devoted dad.

Soren also spoke on the state of music journalism (especially hip-hop) and what’s been lost over the last generation of the biggest artists and their teams controlling their own narratives and reducing interview access. Join us for more exciting Music Book Club talks!
