PARTY RADAR Good lord, now that the Supreme Court has legalized same-sex marriage across the USA, we have yet another party to add to the already overwhelming rainbow-unicorn-Liberace celebration.

Tonight 6pm-9pm, there will be a huge celebration in the Castro. Maybe you’ll find someone to marry! Your mother would be so proud.

Of course, for those who realize there’s still a ton more work to do to achieve equality (you know we can still be fired in 29 states for being gay, yes?), options abound for supporting the community in its continued fight.

Hit up the inspiring, necessary Trans March this evening, Fri/26 (also at 6pm, you can celebrate in the Castro afterward) to enthusiastically show your support for our family members who, despite powerful gains in visibility, are still struggling against prejudice, poverty, and incarceration.

The Dyke March tomorrow (Sat/27) has changed its time and route, but will still retain its radical spirit in voicing critical women’s issues — the theme this year is:  “My body. My business. My power.” (Many in the community feel that the new route/time is more proof of continuing lesbian issue-sidelining and displacement. Look for actions to take place reclaiming the route.)

And of course — please continue to support local gay youth services organizations, LGBT homeless outreach, helplines and counseling for LGBT people of all stripes, including those living with HIV — and the struggle to keep this city affordable, so SF can remain a refuge for people to feel accepted for who they are and who they love. Huzzah!
