Puff: Pride’s about to get hella lit

The first Hottboxx area at Pride will feature cannabis demos, drag, dancing, and Laganja Estranja.

San Francisco Pride 2024 ushers in a new era as it hosts Hottboxx, its first ever cannabis retail and consumption area, located on Grove Street between Polk and Larkin in front of the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium on Saturday, June 29, from 11am to 6pm and Sunday, June 30, from 11am to 6pm.

Fig & Thistle, Flore, and Mission Cannabis Club are the three dispensaries setting the whole thing up along with showcases Autumn Brands, Bloom, Emerald Sky, Herbs and Spice, Jetty, Kiva Confections, Lavinia, Lehua, Pure Beauty, Slimmies, Sluggers, Wyld, and more.

Stoners will enter on the Larkin Street side by showing their valid ID. Entry is free. There will be a purchasing area and a demo area where you can meet with various brand reps and discuss all things cannabis.

In this area feel free to eat an edible or pop open an infused drink, but if you want to light up or dab, you need to move into the consumption space, and that is where you will find me. Shocker, I know!

I am the DJ and host for the consumption area for both days. I’m excited to be spinning all your Gay Pride favorites and we are going to have a stoney good time.

On Saturday, June 29, we start the day at noon with two hours of BONG-O BINGO, the hit drag cannabis bingo party, hosted by Brandelicious and Thee Pristine Condition. Tickets are $10 for a bingo board from Eventhi.io or at the Information Booth in Hottboxx. We will be playing as many rounds of bingo as we can fit in, with a drag break in the middle. The lucky winners will receive fabulous cannabis-themed gifts. Tickets go fast, so I recommend getting tickets beforehand. Ticket links are below.

After bingo, PUFF, the legendary queer cannabis drag party which started at the Stud in 2016, returns at 3pm with amazing performances by Brandelicious, Andeley Andelay, Sunshine, Kelly Rose and more. Bring those dollar bills for tipping, though I’m sure most of them would take a pre-roll instead!

I will then spin stonelicious tunes from 4pm-6pm to keep you high and happy.

We are back on Sunday, June 30 with more BONG-O BINGO beginning at 11am with another two hours of drag cannabis bingo with Thee Pristine Condition and myself. Again, ticket links are below.

We will then go immediately into the next PUFF drag show at around 1pm featuring (perfect) Laganja Estranja from “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Laganja has not only been a fierce drag performer who competed on Season 6 but also an equally fierce cannabis advocate for years. We are so happy to have her at Hottboxx for our first Cannabis Pride Celebration!!

Following Laganja will be more stoney fun drag with Ferosha Titties, Mama Dora, Thee Pristine Condition, and Ace Palomino.

After that, it will be me DJing until the end of the day to make sure your toes are tapping while you get high.

Queer culture was a driving force for cannabis legalization. Dennis Peron helped get Prop 215 passed in 1996 to create legalized medical cannabis, which changed the world and led directly to recreational legalization a few years ago. So it seems natural for cannabis to be celebrated at Pride. It took a while to get it going, but now we have it; so get out there, get high, celebrate, and post it all over social media for the world to see.

Here are the ticket links for BONG-O BINGO!

Saturday BONG-O BINGO tickets.

Sunday BONG-O BINGO tickets.

Usually, I advise you to make a Cannabis Pride Pack to take with you when you go out and about on Pride, but this year, spend that money at Hottboxx to show your support and pick up your favorite infused beverage, edible or pre-rolls there. Then, stop by the consumption area, say High to me, toke out, and be part of the creation of a modern cannabis lifestyle in San Francisco.

We are making queer cannabis history!!

So be out, be proud, and be HIGH!

Now it’s time to light up!
