Live Shots: The 48 Hills 10th Anniversary Gala went off, and you can still support us!

Best of the Bay winners, local politicos, and independent media supporters filled Bssap Baobab October 26. Check out the pics!

Our 10th Anniversary Gala and fundraiser on October 26 was a huge hit—Bissap Baobab in the Mission was overflowing with 2023 Best of the Bay winners, local politicos, and independent press supporters. The generous open bar and complimentary West African food generated a lot of warmth, and emcee Marga Gomez absolutely killed it with an edgy little set that had attendees rolling. Classic music from vinyl 45″ DJ Lizzy Al Toque of Chulita Vinyl Club and the live salsa stylings of Ricky’s Grupo Afro Nativo got the dance floor going.

48 Hills founder and editor Tim Redmond pumped up the crowd with the message to keep fighting for the soul of San Francisco—and to keep independent media alive in a time of billionaire corporate vultures flooding the city with right-wing narratives and “doom loop” nonsense. You can still support our mission here. Thank you to all who came and believe in what we do! Here’s to another decade of speaking out and raising hell.
