The California Journalism Awards 2023 finalists have been announced by the California News Publishers Association, and we are so proud to announce that we are up for four awards:
Environment Reporting: USC Fellow Tom Molanphy for his three-part report on the toxic legacy of Hunters Point
Food Writing/Reporting: Adrian Spinelli for his reflection on what Anchor Brewery’s closure means for San Francisco
Music Writing/Reporting: Lou Fancher for her in-depth interview with the legendary Bruce Cockburn about mortality and music
Music Writing/Reporting: Zack Ruskin for his deeply reported piece about local music platform Bandcamp’s sale and ensuing layoffs
