the center of the technology industry for the city, and perhaps the world.
How Weird attracts many of the area’s innovative technologists and internet
pioneers. The area is also home to a large concentration of art galleries
and museums. How Weird attracts many types of artists and lovers of art and
culture. The faire, the area, and the participants represent the convergence
of art and technology, the fusion of creativity and possibilities. How Weird
encourages fresh perspectives and new ways of viewing the world.

The How Weird Street Faire is a world-renowned experience, one of the
eclectic things that make San Francisco such an exciting place. How Weird
was named one of the 10 Best Cultural Festivals in America by USA Today in
2019, and awarded SF Weekly’s Best of SF Award for “street fair that
continues to improve and blow our minds” in 2018.

A benefit for the nonprofit World Peace Through Technology Organization.

The How Weird Street Faire is a project of and benefit for the educational
nonprofit World Peace Through Technology Organization, showing the world
that peace is possible. The faire brings diverse people together to make
connections and find common ground. Dancing knows no boundaries or political
affiliation, and music, more than any other form of communication, is able
to transcend differences between people.

How Weird also supports other nonprofits and local charities. In the past
year, donations went to the Haight Ashbury Food Project, Art of Peace
Project, United Playaz, ARC San Francisco, ARC Solano, and Sunset Youth
Services. In addition, the faire supports the World Peace Through Technology
Organization’s own Immersive Learning Center (ILC) in Vallejo, which
provides STEAM educational opportunities to one of the least served
communities in California for free, six days a week. We are providing the
skills and understanding needed to use technology for the benefit of all.

See how fun peace can be at a place where people are free to express
themselves as they are, no matter how strange. It is a festival of
acceptance and appreciation of differences. And in these weird times, that
is needed more than ever.
