Party Radar: A Wicked weekend, indeed

Gothic Lolita Ball, Doc Sleep, Magda, Pachanga Boys, Charlotte the Baroness—and Wicked celebrates 27 years of legendary raving!

PARTY RADAR OK I think I seriously slipped on a rainbow oil slick broke something at Pride this year: I’m just now recovering! (Throwing a Victorian micro-rave with 30 friends over July 4 weekend at the oldest continuously operating hotel in California certainly helped keep me under.)

Still, from under the covers, I’ve felt so connected to the global nightlife community, especially its showy resistance lately, from a massive Rave-o-lution in Tbilisi …

… to the party bus protests of the huge Anti-Trump movement last weekend in London, this ecstatic bit courtesy of Horse Meat Disco’s Luke Solomon:

Dance music, bringing people together for true expression and a desire to change. Let’s keep it going, shall we? I’m especially stoked that one of our longest-running parties, one that’s embodied transcendent resistance from the beginning, Wicked, is having its 27th anniversary all-night reunion Sat/21. Get together with your dance floor family and dance like the Wicked wind!
